Square Enix has kicked off its in-store marketing for the hugely anticipated Final Fantasy XVI in Japan, with advertising stands now appearing at retailers featuring key art from the PS5 JRPG.

Final Fantasy XVI is scheduled for release on PS5 on June 22, 2023. Recently, the game’s producer, Naoki Yoshida, revealed that a PC version of the game hasn’t actually been confirmed despite speculation, and suggested that PC owners buy a PS5 instead.
The producer, affectionately called Yoshi-P by fans, also reckons that the upcoming JRPG is a true hardware showcase for Sony’s latest home console. Final Fantasy XIV was recently rated Mature by the ESRB, becoming the first instalment in the venerable series to be carry an M certificate.
Elsewhere, if you fancy splashing out on the game’s Collector’s Edition, you had better save those pennies as it’ll set you back a whopping $349.99.
