Final Fantasy XVI has received a fresh batch of artwork during the Tokyo Game Show 2022, depicting the main protagonist and what seems to be a brand new location.
The artwork also reconfirms the game’s Summer 2023 release window, so we’ve still got a bit of wait on our hands for Square Enix‘s latest JRPG.

Final Fantasy XVI is currently in development for PS5 and PC, with a planned launch window of Summer 2023.
A few months back, producer Naoki Yoshida revealed during an interview that Final Fantasy XVI dropped turn-based combat in order to appeal to a younger audience, although he later admitted that the battle system is unlikely to appeal to everyone.
Elsewhere, Yoshida-san revealed that it would have taken the development team years to design the game with an open-world setting.
Beyond Final Fantasy XVI, Square Enix is working on two other entries in the series, namely Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
