First footage of the Friday the 13th game shows Jason Voorhees on the prowl

It may still be early on in development, but recently-revealed alpha test footage of the Friday the 13th game shows signs of an intense and gore-filled horror experience.

Shown at PAX this week, two trailers showcased the horror game that was successfully funded on Kickstarter last year. The first sees a terrified protagonist cowering under a bed as Mrs Voorhees’ baby boy bursts into the room. Naturally, he spots his soon-to-be victim.

The second trailer saw a reveal of one of the film franchise’s more well known areas, Friday the 13th Part 3’s Higgins Haven, the place where Jason first gets his iconic hockey mask. In this trailer, we see Jason use a door to gruesome effect.

The game will feature the talents of actor Kane Hodder (Jason in the later films) and Tom Savini (the earlier film’s effects man) and should be heading to PS4 next year, though no release date is currently set.
