Fortnite Hits 1 million players, Survival mode announced

If you haven’t heard of Epic Games’ Fortnite, I don’t blame you since it doesn’t fit the traditional mold of AAA titles, and it isn’t. What Fortnite is, is a co-op sandbox survival game made by People Can Fly (Bulletstorm) that’s already out via paid Early Access on PlayStation 4 and PC, with a full free-to-play release sometime next year.

Given that Fortnite is expected and confirmed to be a f2p title in the coming year, it’s recent achievement of hitting one million players is even more impressive. This milestone was announced by the official Fortnite Twitter account, where it also announced that a Survival mode will be available this August 29.

Not bad for a game only available in Early Access and soon to be free-to-play, no? You can read up on Fortnite’s most recent title update to see what kind of changes Epic Games has in store for the game.
