Elden Ring: Nightreign has been announced during The Game Awards 2024 this evening, and it’s not another DLC; it’s a standalone game coming to PS5 & PS4 in 2025.
The phrase Nightreign was trademarked in Japan back in early November, although at the time it wasn’t known what it related to. Well, now we know; it’s a new Elden Ring co-operative experience, and as mentioned, it’s a completely standalone experience. An exact release date was not announced at the show, but it’s coming out at some point next year.

Elden Ring was originally released for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in February 2022, and has sold over 25 million copies worldwide. The game received one expansion earlier this year titled Shadow of the Erdtree. Despite the game’s success, FromSoftware recently said that it wasn’t considering a sequel at this point, although it obviously isn’t done with the IP given today’s news of Nightreign.
