The reaction following Sony’s PlayStation 4 announcement is positive so far, and solid numbers are coming out to prove it. GameStop has reported that the PS4 is "showing strong demand" in just under a month since the console’s unveiling.
In a statement, GameStop president Tony Bartel said, “With only a glance at the PS4, gamers are excited and eager to know more. Within just a few weeks, more than 600,000 people have signed up [for the First to Know list], showing strong demand for this new console.”
GameStop’s First to Know list does not guarantee a system, but will alert subscribers when pre-orders open. The PS4 is set to launch this upcoming holiday season, but a price and release date have not been announced. 16 million PS4s are reportedly going to be available at launch.
