Gears Of War E-Day hasn’t received an official release date yet, but speculation has started mounting that it could be out in September after Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and WWE confirmed that Triplemania 2026, and is being sponsored by none other than The Coalition’s upcoming Gears of War prequel.
Triplemania 2026 is taking place over two days, beginning September 11 at an unknown location and in Mexico City on September 13. Given that Gears of War E-Day is sponsoring the event, then a release is probably going to be close to around that same time, as typically this sort of sponsorship doesn’t happen until the launch window as publisher want their game to reach as many people as possible. It wouldn’t make sense having Gears of War E-Day marketing all over such a major event if it wasn’t closer to launch.
The Coalition hasn’t announced anything other than a 2026 window for Gears of War E-Day so far, and while a PS5 release hasn’t been announced yet, it’s very likely given Microsoft’s current strategy. Chances are we’ll find all this out during the dedicated event on June 7, which follows the Xbox Games Showcase 2026.
Gears Of War E-Day takes place 14 years before the events of the original game, and depicts the events of Emergence Day, in which the Locust Horde wage war on Sera. Players follow Coalition Ordered Government (COG) soldiers Marcus Fenix and Dam Santiago as they try to survive the Locust invasion in the city of Kalona.
