Fresh on the heels of rumours that Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Flight Simulator 2024 are coming to the PS5, Windows Centrals has reported that two more Xbox heavyweights – Gears of War Ultimate Edition and Hellblade 2 – are also in the pipeline for Sony’s current-generation home console.
The report by Jez Cordon states that he has heard that Hellblade 2, Age of Mythology, and “potentially” Gears of War 1 Ultimate edition are coming to the PS5 at some point in 2025, although he notes that he isn’t sure if this extends to the Nintendo Switch 2 as well. Obviously this isn’t official, so treat this as a rumour for the time being.

Microsoft last year started rolling out the first stages of Project Latitude with the release of a number of Xbox-exclusives including Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush on PS5. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the next game that Microsoft has officially confirmed is PS5-bound in 2025, which will arrive at some point in the spring.
Halo in particular has been rumoured as coming to Sony’s platform before, as last June it was reported that a version of Halo: Combat Evolved would be heading to PS5.
Gears of War was originally released for the Xbox 360 back in 2006 as one of the early must-have titles for Microsoft’s console, and was remastered as Gears of War Ultimate Edition for the Xbox One. Cliff Bleszinski, one of the designers who worked on the game, has said that he would personally like to see Marcus Fenix’s Locust-blasting adventures come to the PS5.
