Sucker Punch Productions’ stunning Ghost of Yotei was given its chance to shine in the spotlight at June 2025’s State of Play briefing thanks to an all-new video which teased a full gameplay reveal in July from the highly anticipated Ghost of Tsushima sequel.
In Ghost of Yotei which takes place some 329 years after the events chronicled in Ghost of Tsushima, players take control of Atsu, a vengeful warrior left for dead by the Yotei Six, a conclave of mysterious outlaws some 16 years prior to the beginning of the game. With murder and retribution on her mind, Atsu sets out to kill each of the members in turn by venturing across the mountainous regions of Japan’s now Hokkaido region.
With all new weapon types including dual katanas, kusarigama, odachi and more, Ghost of Yotei doesn’t just expand the violent creativity of the first game, it also introduces new bounties which can be completed to buy new gear as well, while a much more non-linear narrative when compared to the first game means that Ghost of Yotei is set to have plenty of replayability to boot.

Ghost of Yotei is set to release on PS5 and PS5 Pro on October 2, 2025.
