God Of War 3 Director Stig Asmussen Forms New Studio Giant Skull

Stig Asmussen, the director behind God of War III and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, has revealed that he’s formed a brand new development studio known as Giant Skull, which is aiming to build “gameplay-driven, story immersed action-adventure games set in captivating worlds.”

Giant Skull is currently working on a triple-A single-player-focused action adventure game powered by Unreal Engine 5. In addition to Asmussen, the studio also features Jon Carr (Chief Technological Officer), Patrick Murphy (Art Director), Lauren McLemore (Lead Producer), and Jeff Magers (Design Director).

Speaking on the formation of Giant Skull, Asmussen commented:

The Giant Skull studio culture is founded on creativity and curiosity. We have assembled a talented team renowned for immersive storytelling, heroic combat and exhilarating traversal, and our goal is to craft a rich universe that players will want to lose themselves in for years to come.

Asmussen previously confirmed in September last year that he had decided to leave EA and Respawn Entertainment, saying at the time he would be pursuing “other adventures.” While at the time he wouldn’t elaborate on his future plans, we now know that this involves forming Giant Skull.
