God Of War Dev Opens 24 Jobs For Its New Project, Says God Of War Ragnarok Combat Experience Is Preferable

Sony Santa Monica Studio has posted openings for 24 new jobs on the Sony careers website, which pertain to the company’s new project, which at the time of writing has still yet to be fully revealed.

Among the job positions open include roles such as Lead Narrative, Animator, Senior Combat Designer, Senior Character Artist, Senior Technical Producer, Lead Tools Programer, and more.

Interestingly, the description for the Senior Combat Designer specifically mentions that experience with both God of War and God of War Ragnarok are preferable, suggesting that the new game is another God of War title. It mentions that candidates who “are fluent in the combat design choices, systems, mechanics, and enemies of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok (2022) are proffered”

Back in November 2023 it was revealed that Sony Santa Monica Studio had hired a new narrative director in the form of Bonnie Jean Mah, who previously served in the same role for the Gears of War franchise.

No details are available for the company’s next project yet, but given the success of both God of War and Ragnarok, it’s highly unlikely that the series will be put on ice. Having said that, there’s no reason to believe that Sony Santa Monica wouldn’t want to branch out into new territory, either.
