Gran Turismo Sport was released for the PS4 back in October 2017, and has received a steady stream of content in the years following launch. However, Polyphony has said that it aims to wind down support for the racer this year.
Looking ahead, the studio has said that it is looking to focus on the frame rate for PS5 games, saying that 4K resolution is enough for Gran Turismo.
Gran Turismo remains Sony’s best-selling first-party franchise of all time, selling over 85 million copies worldwide since its inception in December 1997 for the PSOne. Since then, the series has graced PS2, PSP, PS3, and of course, PS4.
