YouTuber TGG has revealed that he was able to visit Rockstar North over the summer to see three hours of Grand Theft Auto VI, where he was able to learn some key facts including the size of the game’s map, which is the biggest in Rockstar history.
Specifically, the map will clock in at double the size of Grand Theft Auto V’s already-sprawling environment, and will be three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2. Furthermore, GTA VI’s Vice CIty is twice the size of Los Santos from the previous game, and the city and surrounding suburbs is 11 times bigger than Los Santos and its surrounding areas.
In related news, Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson revealed during an interview with IGN that the studio originally thought about including four protagonists in GTA VI before settling on Jason and Lucia, and revealed that he took about 80 hours to get through the game’s main story. In addition, the open world epic is confirmed to run at 30 FPS at launch and Rockstar is reportedly unsure about a 60 FPS Performance Mode.
Grand Theft Auto VI is due out for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19.
