Grand Theft Auto VI Preorder Chatter Heats Up As IDs Reportedly Added To PS Store Backend

PlayStation Game Size on X has revealed that IDs for Grand Theft Auto VI have been added to the PlayStation Store backend, which suggests that preorders could be announced soon and launched in the near future. With the game out in November, it would make sense Rockstar is gearing up for preorders at this point.

While nothing official has been announced in regards to preorders yet, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick stated earlier this month during its latest earnings report that marketing for GTA VI is slated to kick off in the summer. We would be surprised if preorders are live and kicking by that point.

GTA VI has been delayed twice already. The game was originally slated to appear in Fall 2025, before Rockstar pushed the game back to May 2026. However, the upcoming open-world crime epic was delayed yet again to November 19, 2026, so hopefully this one will stick and it won’t be postponed again. Fortunately, Zelnick stated in November last year that Take-Two is ‘highly confident‘ in the new release date.

There’s also been chatter that GTA VI won’t receive a physical version at launch in an effort to avoid leaks, but this was quickly shot down by Zelnick. Beyond that, the executive also assured fans that generative AI has ‘zero part‘ in what Rockstar Games is working on with GTA VI.
