Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has reaffirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI still on track for its November 19, 2026, although stopped short of announcing anything related to the game’s pricing.
“We never make marketing announcements in our analyst calls. Never ever ever,” said Zelnick, during a chat with Variety ahead of the publisher’s latest earnings call. “I think reiterating November 19 as a launch day today is probably a positive. I think we’ve been really clear that we’re releasing the title on November 19.”
Elsewhere, he also addressed recent rumours that preorders would be opening this week following a Best Buy affiliate email started doing the rounds, reiterating that Rockstar would begin marketing GTA VI this summer. “So the next few weeks I don’t think it’ll be summertime yet, but when it’s summertime, Rockstar expects to start marketing [Grand Theft Auto VI],” he said.
Earlier this week, Zelnick revealed during a chat with David Senra that GTA VI is about 18 months behind its original release window, which suggests the game was initially planned to launch in Spring 2025. Rockstar originally announced a Fall 2025 date for the open-world crime sequel, before delaying the game to May 2026 and finally November.
Take-Two has reportedly spent as much as $1.5 billion in GTA VI to date. The game launches Nov. 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
