Grand Theft Auto VI Reportedly ‘Still Not Content Complete’

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has revealed during a chat on the Button Mash Spotify podcast that he’s heard whispers that Grand Theft Auto VI is still not ‘content complete,’ with Rockstar still implementing things ahead of the crucial bug-testing phase.

The last I heard, it was still not content complete. That is to say people were still finishing things up, still finalising levels and missions, and seeing what is going to make it into the game. They are still making stuff and will hopefully be done with that soon so they can start bug-testing.

In regards to the release date, which is now targeting November 19, 2026, Schreier admitted that Rockstar probably wouldn’t admit that it’s 100% sure that GTA VI will meet that date, but said it “feels a little more real” than previous targets.

I don’t think anyone at Rockstar could tell you with 100 per cent certainty that the game will be out in November but it feels a little more real than [previous release dates]. People feel this will be a little more solid.

Back in November last year, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick commented that he’s feeling “highly confident” in the new release date for GTA VI, although the executive said the same thing back when the game was set to arrive in May 2026. Still, hopefully GTA VI won’t see any more delays at this point.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
