Rockstar Games has made Grand Theft Auto Online playable without a PlayStation Plus subscription for a limited time, with the online crime caper available from today until December 24 without becoming a member.
This is part of a promotion that the developer typically does with every major GTA Online update – in this case, the Agents of Sabotage content drop – in order to attract new players without having to pay for the privilege.

Grand Theft Auto Online was released a month after Grand Theft Auto V arrived on shelves over a decade ago, and has remained a huge money-maker for publisher Take-Two ever since, with multiple updates and events rolling out on a consistent basis. In fact, it’s this reason that the GTA V single-player DLC was scrapped; Rockstar had planned something with Trevor, according to voice actor Steven Ogg, but this was cancelled.
