Sony has added Grand Theft Auto V to its on-going 12 Deals of Christmas on the PlayStation Store, with Rockstar’s critically acclaimed crime drama the latest game to receive a festive discount.
As part of the price drop, gamers can pick up GTA V for a wallet-friendly £29.99. The promotion only runs until 11.59pm GMT on December 18, so get in quick if you want to save some precious pennies on one of the biggest games of the past few years.
Elsewhere, Sony confirmed that it has slashed the price on Star Wars Battlefront to £36.84 until December 26 for those looking for another quick bargain.
GTA V was released in September 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360, becoming the fastest-selling video game of all time by generating an eye-watering $800 million in just 24 hours. To put into perspective just how well the game sold, GTA V managed to outpace lifetime sales of its predecessor in just six weeks—by that point in time, GTA IV had been on sale for five years. By February 2014, the game had become one of the best-selling games of all time with 32.5 million shipments worldwide. GTA V later arrived on PS4 and Xbox One and cemented the acclaimed crime caper as the best-selling game of all time in the U.K., with GTA Online Heists later propelling the game back to the top of the charts.
To date, the critically acclaimed Rockstar title has shipped an impressive 54 million copies worldwide, although it’s anyone’s guess as to when we’ll see the inevitable GTA 6. Read our full review of GTA V on PS4.
