Guerrilla hints at future Killzone games

Developer Guerrilla Games has teased there’s still “ample opportunity” for future outings in the Killzone universe.

Speaking during a chinwag with Eurogamer, senior producer Steven ter Heide indicated the critically acclaimed franchise isn’t about to retire its jet pack and mow the lawn anytime soon.

"There’s still a lot of room in the Killzone universe to expand and to do new stories," he commented. "We want to leave ourselves open like [the ending of Killzone 3] because Killzone’s not going to go away anytime soon."

Meanwhile, Guerrilla bigwig Herman Hulst added: "We’ve had our Pearl Harbour moment, our D-Day moment, but there are so many different types of war, different kinds of conflicts that have originated from different reasonings, from a different rationale."

Hulst was also quizzed on the possibility of connectivity between the upcoming Sony Cambridge-developed NGP Killzone title and its console brethren, though wouldn’t say either way on the matter:

"What can I say? I can say it’s too early to talk about that,” he commented.

As for Killzone 3, Hulst had the following to say when asked if there was anything Guerrilla was unable to incorporate in the hotly anticipated blaster: "Maybe online co-op – but that was a conscious choice. We wanted to do one co-op mode very well instead of spreading ourselves thin in that regard. That’s the way life goes."

We got our mitts on Killzone 3 a few weeks back, and can honestly say it’s rather splendid indeed. For more details, pop on over to our review here, or if the prospect of reading doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can digest the info via our video review.
