With the PS5 review embargo now up and us being able to talk about the backwards compatibility features on PS5, we took the time to check out God of War on the new console, which now runs at a smooth 60 FPS.

Something of a visual tour de force on PlayStation 4, God of War players on PS4 Pro have already been enjoying a choice between resolution and performance modes for some time now. Where the power of the PS5 has been brought to bear, however, is in locking down the frame rate in performance mode to a solid 60 FPS in a way that the current generation of PlayStation consoles simply cannot achieve.
In this sense and by focusing on stabilising the frame rate exclusively without implementing any other visual improvements, God of War joins Ghost of Tsushima in being something of a half measure when it comes to PS5 enhancements. Whereas Days Gone, on the other hand, a title which previously had no configurable visual presets, now finds itself running at 4K/60 and is arguably the standard that all PS5 enhanced PS4 titles should be aiming for.
The PS5 releases on November 12, 2020, in the US and November 19, 2020, in the EU and UK.
