Sony has announced that Arrowhead Games Studios‘ Helldivers is getting a movie adaptation with Justin Lin set to direct. Justin Lin, best known for his various Fast and Furious movies.
Justin Lin will also produce the film through his Perfect Storm Entertainment banner. Writer Gary Dauberman is also attached to the project. Gary Dauberman worked as the scribe for IT and the Annabelle franchise at Warner Bros.
Along with Helldivers, Lin is also working on the live-action adaptation of One Punch Man and a movie adaptation of the comic book Brzrkr written and created by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt for Netflix.

Helldivers is the next PlayStation-published franchise to head to the big screen. PlayStation Studios released Until Dawn back in April and is nominated as Best Adaptation at the Game Awards 2025. Sony also has a Horizon film in development and God of War heading into production in March 2026 for Amazon Prime Video.
Helldivers and Helldivers 2 have taken the industry by storm. Selling over 12 million units in just four months across the PS5 and PC, and recently received a release on Xbox Series S/X.
The Co-op extraction shooter sees you and your friends facing off against alien bugs and cyberborgs. Competing in various missions before heading to an extraction point to escape.
