Veteran developers Hideki Kamiya and Shinji Mikami have announced plans to host a talk about their careers and future plans, with the pair set to take part in the Archival Caravan in Tokyo, Japan next month.
The event is billed as a “festival of Japanese pop culture” and runs December 15 — 17, and their session is titled Shinji Mikami x Hideki Kamiya. Archipel has previously interviewed Mikmai-san in the past regarding the birth of the survival horror and the Resident Evil series.
In this conversation, the two, who retired from their previous jobs in 2023, will begin by sharing their memories of their respective careers, as well as their creative thinking and future plans.
Kamiya announced back in September that he was leaving PlatinumGames after 15 years, while developer Tango Gameworks confirmed in February this year that Mikami was departing the studio. Earlier last month, Kamiya revealed that he had set up a YouTube channel following his exit from PlatinumGames.
