Hidetaka Miyazaki Says Bloodborne Is ‘A Special Game For Me,’ Says He ‘Imparted A Lot Of My Own Ideas’ Into The Game

Speaking during an interview with Game Informer, FromSoftware‘s Hidetaka Miyazaki, the mastermind behind the likes of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, has reflected on PS4’s critically acclaimed Bloodborne, describing it as a “special game” for him.

“Bloodborne is a special game of me,” said Miyazaki-san, adding that “t was probably the most challenging developing cycle we’ve had from a studio perspective.” He also described how “personal” Bloodborne was for him, describing how “I’ve imparted a lot of my own ideas into this game, whether it be the story, the world-building component, or even the game mechanics and the game systems that are in place.” As a result, Miyazaki said that Bloodborne “is perhaps the strongest reflection of my type of flavouring of a game that one can experience.”

Bloodborne was released in May 2015 for the PS4 and developed by FromSoftware and SIE Japan Studio. While the game is playable on the PS5 via backwards compatibility, fans have been crying out for a proper 60 FPS update ever since Sony’s latest system hit the market, but nothing has ever materialised.

Modder Lance McDonald created a 60 FPS patch, but last January Sony hit the mod with a DMCA takedown notice.
