If you’ve been aching to get back on the course and play a round of virtual golf, EA Sports has you covered. A demo for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 will be available today for the PlayStation 3. Hopefully your return to golf will be better than Tiger’s so far.
The demo allows you to participate in a fully customizable Ryder Cup match, including three holes on the Celtic Manor Resort, which is the host venue for this year’s Ryder Cup. You’ll also get to transfer any in-game XP you earn in the demo over to the full version of Tiger Woods 11 when it launches on June 8 in North America and July 2 worldwide.
You’ll also get three holes on the all-new Liberty National course. New to this year’s installment is the all-new Shot Focus, which allows players to make shot to shot decisions, resulting in more risk vs. reward style of play. This feature will provide that extra power off the tee, more spin, greater accuracy, and putt previews. Your shot focus will deplete the more you use it, and once it runs out you’ll lose those shot enhancements until it recharges.
Finally, players will get a chance to check out the new True Aim feature, which provide more authentic play. The traditional aiming methods have been replaced with yardage markers showing carry distance, and distance to targets. You’ll have to select the right club based on yardage markers. Once the ball leaves the club, it’s on its own.
