Darren Macbeth, managing director of Sega Australia, has announced that the Extended Cut version for House of the Dead: Overkill has been reclassified under an MA15+ rating, following an appeal submitted by Sega back in August.
The game was initially refused classification in Australia for its high-impact violence.
Macbeth, pleased with the result, had this to say: "We are proud to confirm that the game will be released in Australia in its original entirety, with no content altered or removed in any way. We were confident of successfully appealing the Board’s original decision to refuse classification and appreciate that the Classification Review Board has made a decision that complies with the current guidelines and framework."
House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut is set for release on Oct. 25 in the U.S., Oct. 28 in mainland Europe, and now Oct. 27 in Australia.
