The iGaming market in the Nordic region has been expanding lately despite all trials and tribulations in the world. To oversee all the changes, we decided to craft a little piece on how these changes are evolving.
We mainly go over countries like Finland, Sweden, Estonia, and Norway to highlight how online gambling evolves.
We hope this article gives you some inside scoop and what’s the latest in the iGaming market. Read on!
Finland
In Finland, the trend has been all about Pay n Play casinos. Most of the new casinos published in 2021 only use Trustly as their payment solution. Affiliates have also noticed this trend, and many niche sites around this theme were born during this year.
Finns use the simple word Pikakasinot to describe casinos without registration and that is the keyword many affiliates build their review sites around.
It means “fast” or “instant” casinos, which use either Trustly, Zimpler Go, or Brite for its instant money transfers. All of those companies are Swedish based.
Finland will implement a new reform of the gaming act in 2022. The country still refuses to give licencing system a chance, even though basically all other EU-countries have done it.
Sweden
Even since the current worldwide climate struck, Swedish online casinos strive to improve and create more mobile games.
Such games can keep players occupied wherever they are and casino platforms are becoming flexible by the minute in recent years.
Another trend is the “no account casinos” which require players only to log in to their online banks and transfer funds. No registration is needed since the online banks access the most important info about the players within the identification process.
Even some new regular casinos are adding this as an option to make it easier. SvenksaSpel is still the government owned monopoly, but as of 2019, other operators have been able to enter the market through a license system.
Norway
In Norway, the gambling situation is a bit different from other countries. Whilst the market faces many government restrictions and obstacles, it’s going strong.
For example, all of the funds received from the government owned gaming operator go towards sports and culture. This is something that has helped many institutions over the last few years.
Payment blocking has not worked, and offshore casinos are still growing a lot in Norway. Norway has started to work on some new blocking methods, such as DNS-blocking.
Estonia
There is something very exciting happening with Estonia’s gambling market. The iGaming provider EvoPlay has expanded its services in Estonia striking a deal with the online casino Kingswin.
This provider’s portfolio consists of more than 60 titles with some exciting games like Elven Princesses, Hot Triple Sevens, Fruit Nova, and more.
Such a wide portfolio gives players many opportunities to play and possibly get some winnings. In order to get those winnings, Estonian casino players have their favourites amongst payment methods. Such favourites are Neteller, Skrill, ecoPayz, PayPal, and more of these e-payment methods.
Players also have local payment options like 2Checkout, PayTrail, Mondo, PAYMILL, and QuickPay.
