Indiana Jones And The Great Circle PS5 ESRB Rating Appears, Which Means A Release Isn’t Too Far Off

The Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) has posted up a listing for the upcoming PS5 version of MachineGamesIndiana Jones and the Great Circle, which going by past ratings indicates that a release isn’t too far off at this point.

The rating itself doesn’t reveal anything particularly exciting about the game, especially seeing as how it’s been out for a couple of months now on PC and Xbox Series X/S. Still, for those who are interested, we’ve included the description below.

This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of Indiana Jones on an adventure to uncover a mystery while defeating villains. From a first-person perspective, players explore various locations (e.g., catacombs, tombs, ruins) while solving puzzles and engaging in hand-to hand combat against enemy soldiers. Players can perform stealth attacks and whip attacks to take out enemies discreetly. Players can occasionally use rifles, machine guns, and objects (e.g., shovels, brooms) kill enemies.

Combat is accompanied by impact sounds, realistic gunfire, and small blood-splatter effects. One sequence depicts a severed arm on the ground; another sequence depicts a corpse impaled on a spike trap, with small blood stains. The text in the game briefly references drugs (e.g., “I tried morphine; but the drug has given only transient surcease”; “Do not think from my slavery to morphine that I am a weakling…”). The words “a*s,” “bastard,” and “p*ss” are heard in the game.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been confirmed for a Spring 2025 release on the PS5, and according to The Verge’s Tom Warren, will launch in April 2025.

Set in 1937 between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle sees the whip-wielding archaeologist attempting to multiple groups from harassing the a mysterious power linked to the Great Circle, which references sites around the world that form a perfect circle when together on a map. Players will travel to a number of real-world locations, including the Vatican City, Thailand, Egypt and China.
