Speaking during an interview with Push Square, Subset Games has suggested that a PS5 & PS4 port of Into the Breach could happen at some stage, as the studio prepares to launch an Advanced Edition version of the game alongside a mobile edition.
Matthew Davis refused to rule out the prospect of Into the Breach coming to Sony’s consoles, but at the same time, made it clear nothing is set in stone yet.
It’s within the realm of possibility. We’ve got nothing against PS4/PS5. But I’d like to get back to original development in the immediate future. We’re a very small studio with only 3 full-time developers. Every port takes up time not only in its initial development, but also in post-release support and maintenance. It’s a difficult balancing act.
Into the Breach was released for the PC in February 2018 and later came to the Nintendo Switch in August 2018. A Google Stadia version followed in December 2020 and the mobile version is scheduled to drop on July 19, 2022.
