Shawn Fonteno, the voice actor behind Grand Theft Auto V’s Franklin, has posted a shot of himself in a mo-cap suit on Instagram, fueling hope that story DLC could still be in the pipeline for the multi-million selling open-world title.
Fonteno uploaded the image for his fans on the social media site, which depicts him sitting in the suit at Rockstar’s office, flanked by posters of Grand Theft Auto IV, L.A. Noire, and Max Payne 3. He accompanied the image with the text, ‘LOL FUCCCCCC IT…..’
While this may indeed indicate that the actor is busy recording new dialogue and scenes for GTA V, it isn’t known when the image was taken, so it could just be an old picture taken during the game’s development. Then again, maybe Rockstar is still working on the story DLC, which two years after its announcement has still yet to materialise.
It’s also worth mentioning that this isn’t the first time that Fonteno has posted an image of himself in a mo-cap suit, having done so last June in front of a poster for GTA Vice City.
Rockstar has been spending most of its time with GTA V in the months following release updating the game’s online component, which includes a number of updates such as the Heists DLC. The studio is continuing to release GTA Online updates to this day.
The story content has been teased numerous times, first in November 2013, then the following February, and finally in April 2014, where Rockstar said fans should look out "for even more additions to both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V, including more holiday-themed updates, some very exciting Story Mode DLC and much more."
GTA V was originally released in September 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360, and was later updated for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. The game has shipped a staggering 54 million copies to date. Read our review of GTA V on PS4 to see what we made of the ultimate edition of the epic crime sequel.
