In Journey To The Savage Planet levelling up is something you should be doing from the very beginning of the game. Doing so will allow you to increase both your health and your stamina.
Early on both of them are quite limited, which can make surviving tricky. Therefore, you will want to make levelling up a priority throughout the early hours of the game.

Journey To The Savage Planet: How To Increase Your Health And Stamina
Levelling up in Journey To The Savage Planet is introduced to you within the first hour of the game. You can level up by eating Orange Goo scattered around the planet.
After exiting the Javelin and entering the first open section of the planet you will be able to walk around and explore. Once you get within 50 meters of a blob of Orange Goo a new mission will start.

This mission is called ‘Alien Edibles’. If you hit the touchpad and track it within your journal by pressing ‘X’, a yellow marker will appear on your map showing you where the Orange Goo is.
Head over to that marker and interact with the Orange Goo to level up and complete the mission. Each level up will give you some more stamina and another bar of health.
Journey To The Savage Planet: How To Keep Levelling Up
Your first level up will come after eating your first Orange Goo during the ‘Alien Edibles’ mission. However, from there you will need to eat multiple blobs of Orange Goo to level up.
As you level up more, more Orange Goo is required to increase your health and stamina and reach the next level. Although there are 100 blobs of Orange Goo, your Health and Stamina is capped once you have eaten 60.
The amount of Orange Goo required to level up depends on how many you have eaten so far:
- 0 blobs of Orange Goo eaten – 1 required to level up.
- 1-7 blobs of Orange Goo eaten – 2 required to level up.
- 8-19 blobs of Orange Goo eaten – 3 required to level up.
- 20-34 blobs of Orange Goo eaten – 4 required to level up.
- 35-59 blobs of Orange Goo eaten – 5 required to level up.
As you get further into the game you will be able to complete Science Experiments that will increase your Kindred employee status. Reaching a new rank will unlock more skills within the 3D Printer inside the Javelin. Under the Visor tab, you can buy a skill that will show Orange Goo blobs on your compass when you press ‘R3’. This is one of the late-game skills and will require you to reach the final level of the game.
Journey To The Savage Planet is available now on PS4.
