As we approach Journey To The Savage Planet‘s release this week, a question being raised is “does Journey To The Savage Planet have local split-screen co-op?”
Does Journey To The Savage Planet Have Local Split-Screen Co-op?
Unfortunately, Journey To The Savage Planet does not feature local split-screen co-op, with the game only having online co-op. This is somewhat disappointing to see given how the game seems geared towards supporting playing with a friend or having a parent and child play together. However, you can still play with someone in online co-op through PSN.
The lack of local split-screen co-op in Journey To The Savage Planet was one of the only disappoints I had with the game. In my review, I highlighted how the game is an enjoyable arcadey mix of Metroidvania level design, first-person shooting, and survival exploration. You can read my full review here.
If you want some more details on the online co-op mode in the game including how progress is saved and what materials are shared between players be sure to check out our co-op explained guide for the game. Journey To The Savage Planet is the first game from Typhoon Studios. You are an employee of Kindred, a space-exploration company who are trying to find the next habitable home for humanity. After a long flight, you land on AR-Y 26, the titular Savage Planet, and have to explore and gather information to find out whether it is a safe place for humans. But the journey isn’t as easy as it sounds and you have to fight various creatures and tackle the terrain of the planet.
Journey To The Savage Planet is available for PS4 on January 28, 2020.
