Journey To The Savage Planet: How To Unlock The Ornate Alien Chests
Each level of Journey To The Savage Planet has one of these Ornate Alien Chests for you to unlock. In order to unlock them, you will need to scan three shapes that correspond to the ones on the ground surrounding the chest. The shapes you need to scan are embedded within stone pillars and hidden within the environment.
Once you have arrived at the chest, look at the position of the three shapes on the ground. The corresponding shape you need to scan can be found in the surrounding area and in the direction that the shape is pointing.
Once you reach it, hit the ‘Up’ arrow on the D-pad and then hold down ‘R1’ to scan the shape and unlock the lock. Repeat this for all three shapes and the chest will open, allowing you to pick up the Alien Alloy.
Each chest is opened in this way and once you have done it once, you can easily open the others. Some of the locks do require you to have tools which are locked behind story missions, such as the Proton Tether. Once you have the tools, return to the chest to unlock it.
Journey To The Savage Planet is the first game from Montreal based Typhoon Studios. I quite enjoyed it stating in my review: “Journey To The Savage Planet is a fun, arcadey ride with its comedic characters, cartoony art style and unique blend of game genres. Secrets and secondary objectives galore, creative creature design, and a rewarding gameplay loop only add to that ride.” You can read my full thoughts in PSU’s review.
Journey To The Savage Planet is available now on PS4.
