As everyone seems to know by now, the PlayStation Network was hacked during April, and the data of about 100 million user accounts was compromised. Compromised by hackers, which Sony admits, were very good at hiding their tracks.
“It might be 100 million first names, it might be 100 million last 4 digits of a phone number, it could be the entire account information, we just don’t know.” Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Kazuo Hirai said in an interview with BBC.
It seems that while Sony has things under control with the PlayStation Network for now, the company is still trying to figure out exactly what was stolen, and who stole it.
The Sony Corporation President shared some honest answers during the interview, saying “We may not know for a very long time or we may never know" in regards to who hacked the PSN, and what was taken.
Kaz also holds back on going in great detail about the new safety features and protocols put in place since the hack, in order to avoid the misuse of the information, and letting it “get into the hands of the wrong people”.
