Warhorse Studios Co-Founder and Creative Director, Dan Vávra, has revealed that Kingdom Come Deliverance II will feature a script with 2.2 million words, which means it’s set to surpass Baldur’s Gate III’s record-breaking 2,000,000 word count.
Here’s what the Warhorse Studios boss had to say on X:
Yesterday, we were counting with our lead designer Prokop Jirsa how much we actually wrote for KCD2. So guess how big the script is? 2,200,000 words! Or 11,000 typical screenwriting pages. That’s a 100 scripts for a typical two-hour movie, or about 25 average novels.

Back in May, the actor behind protagonist Henry revealed that he had clocked 508 hours of studio time recording his dialogue for the character, which amounted to 127 sessions.
Like its predecessor, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 takes place in an open-world and is set from a first-person viewpoint, although it makes some changes to the player’s arsenal with the addition of crossbows and primitive firearms. You once again follow blacksmith Henry, a resident of Central Bohemia during the 15th century, as he battles against the Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund and his allies.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is set for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in February 2025.
