Take-Two has confirmed that L.A. Noire has shifted almost five million copies globally since its release in May 2011.
According to NPD data, this makes the Team Bondi-developed crime caper the best-selling new IP of last year.
The news dropped during the publishing giant’s quarterly financial report overnight, where the firm revealed life-to-date figures for a number of its key franchises.
Among these include the Red Dead series, which has moved a whopping 13 million units, and NBA 2K12, which has sold-in nearly four million copies to date.
The company reported that total revenue for the quarter clocked in at $236.3 million, down from $334.3 million during the same period last year.
Grand Theft Auto V was briefly touched on, with Take-Two bigwig Strauss Zelnick confirming that Rockstar is making “incredible progress” with the sequel.
