Distributor Clear River Games has confirmed a February 26, 2025 European release date for the physical version of Layers of Fear on PS5.
The physical version of Bloober Team’s horror title is billed as the ‘definitive way’ to play the franchise, as it features Layers of Fear, Layers of Fear 2, and all accompanying DLC. In addition, it supports ray tracing, HDR, and 4K resolution for Sony’s latest home console, as it uses a brand new game engine compared to the original versions of those games.

The original Layers of Fear arrived for PC, PS4, and Xbox One in February 206, and sees players assuming the role of a psychologically disturbed painter who is attempting to finish tier magnum opus while navigating a Victorian mansion that unveils past secrets. Along the way, you’ll solve puzzles, explore the mansion, and unravel an intricate narrative from a first-person viewpoint.
Meanwhile, Layers of Fear 2 launched for PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2019, with the action switching to a ship where the player controls an actor following instructions from an unseen director. Again, Layers of Fear 2 employee a first-person perspective like its predecessor, and focuses on puzzle solving and exploration.
Finally, we have the self-titled Layers of Fear from 2023, which essentially compiles both games into one seamless package complete with a host of improvements. It’s this version that is getting a physical release.
Layers of Fear comes to PS5 as a physical release on Feb. 26.
