We officially learned more about the LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year Edition via the PlayStation Blog. Aside from the enormous amount of extras included in the GotY Edition, purchasing the title may land you a spot in ModNation Racers Online Beta.
As part of Sony’s “Play Create Share” campaign, LittleBigPlanet GotY Edition comes with 18 new levels made by players, seven different content packs, and, of course, a copy of the original game. With more than 1 million user-generated levels, Media Molecule has handpicked 18 of its favorite custom-made levels, and compiled interviews with each of the level’s creators.
The seven packs from the PlayStation Store include costumes, stickers, objects, new levels, and the “Paintinator.” The packs include:
* Metal Gear Solid Level Pack – featuring the “Paintinator” paintball gun
* Metal Gear Solid Costumes
* Monsters Costumes
* Monsters Pack
* History Costumes
* History Pack
* Animals Costumes
Perhaps the biggest perk, especially for people who already own the game, is the voucher code for the upcoming ModNation Racers Online Beta. A limited supply of LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year Editions will include the voucher. It’s unclear at this time how many will include the voucher. The “build-your-own” go-kart racing game is due out exclusively for the PlayStation 3 in 2010.
LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year Edition is set to hit stores on September 8 and will sell for $59.99 USD.
