Legacy Web-Based PS Store Locked By Sony, Dealing Another Blow For PS3, PS Vita And PSP Content

Sony has dealt a massive blow to those looking to access legacy content for PS3, PS Vita and PSP content, locking access to its classic web-based PS Store.

Just in case you weren’t aware, a lot of people much preferred using the web-based classic PS Store in comparison to the modern design, which is pretty sluggish and obviously only includes PS5 and PS4 content. However, access to the legacy store has now been cut off for web users.

The news comes following rumours that Sony is looking to permanently shutter its PS3, PS Vita and PSP stores, signalling the end of more than a decade of classic content on the PS Store.

It’s an unfortunate trend that seems to be all too common nowadays in regards to the preservation of legacy content, although given that Sony’s Jim Ryan doesn’t seem fussed at all about preserving old games, it’s not surprising.
