A third Wolfenstein game is reportedly in development at MachineGames alongside a Rainbow Six Siege-style multiplayer title, according to reports at Windows Central and Kotaku.
Windows Central’s report focusses on the future of Xbox (as mentioned yesterday, it also claims that a Fallout: New Vegas Remake is in the works), and Kotaku has verified from its own sources that Wolfenstein 3 is in development. Furthermore, the time seem appropriate for a new Wolfenstein, being as how a TV series is in the pipeline with Amazon Prime.
“Machine Games’ is also thought to be working on a Rainbow Six Siege-like multiplayer title,” writes Jez Cordon from Windows Central.
The last entry in the Wolfenstein series was released in 2019 with Wolfenstein: Youngblood, which launched for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
The game takes place 19 years after Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and sees Jessie and Zofia, the teenage daughters of B.J. Blazkowicz, as they look for their father in France while unearthing a Nazi conspiracy involving the creation of a weather apocalypse.
