Marvel’s Avengers And Spider-Man Games Set Within Their ‘Own Universes’

Bill Rosemann, head of creative at Marvel’s Games, has revealed that the studio’s Avengers and Spider-Man titles take place within their own universes, and do not overlap with the multi-million dollar Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel’s Avengers And Spider-Man Games Not Connected To MCU

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Rosemann commented:

Each game is in the Marvel universe, but they’re in their own reality, if you will. Currently, our plan is to keep each game set in its own Marvel universe.

Elsewhere, he also touched base on the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PS4, which ranks as the best-selling superhero game of all time.

It’s all about what talent is available? Do they want to work with Marvel? If so, what’s their passion? When you have all those things align, that’s when you can create something great.”

We always believed in the power of video games. We’re happy that more people than ever are discovering — even though you may be physically in different areas — [that] games can bring you together and create connections.
