A listing on the PlayStation Store for Marvel’s Avengers has apparently confirmed the requirement of one-time online access for the upcoming superhero title, which launches for PS4, PC and Xbox One in September.
Marvel’s Avengers One-Time Online Access
The listing comes in wake of Crystal Dynamics’ War Table event for the game yesterday, and describes an “one-time online access required for single-player campaign.”
Marvel’s Avengers can be played solo, obviously, but the cooperative side of things is a major draw for most players, allowing gamers to team up and tackle missions and duff up legions of bad guys. So, an online access requirement is probably not too surprising.
Marvel’s Avengers is due for release on September 4 for current-generation platforms and Stadia, but will be fully upgradeable to the PS5 and Xbox Series X. You can see how the PS5 version of the game is shaping up here.
