Motion capture work for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is now complete, according to Yuri Lowenthal, the voice actor behind Peter Parker in Insomniac Games‘ critically acclaimed web-slinging PlayStation games.
Lowenthal confirmed the news during a Reddit AMA earlier this week, where a user asked him if he was doing motion-capture for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. In response, Lowenthal simply confirmed, “Yup! All done!”
This isn’t surprising considering the highly anticipated sequel is scheduled for release on PS5 in Fall 2023, although it’s good to hear the game is progressing smoothly either way, as it’s been a while since we got any details.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will see Peter Parker and Miles Morales teaming up to take down Venom, a super villain played by horror legend Tony Todd. Unlike the original Marvel’s Spider-Man, the follow-up is exclusive to the PS5, so there won’t be any last-generation version of the game.
While the possibility of a delay is always on the cards for any game nowadays, Lowenthal previously said that Insomniac Games is confident in its plans to have the game out in 2023.
Interestingly, a Miles Morales action figure recently suggested that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have a connection to the MultiVerse.
