Insomniac Games has released a brief GIF for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, prompting speculation that the studio may have more to say on the highly anticipated PS5 sequel.
The game also appeared on the PS Store very briefly overnight where you could add it to your wishlist, but was promptly taken down.
This may not mean anything at all, as Tony Todd, who voices Venom in the game, previously teased that something career-related was happening at the end of November, and this wasn’t anything to do with Spider-Man 2.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently in development for PS5 at Insomniac Games, and sees Peter Parker and Miles Morales (the protagonists of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, respectively) teaming up to take down Venom.
While a concrete release date hasn’t been announced yet, Insomniac Games has reiterated that the game will launch next year. Elsewhere, the actor who portrayed Harry Osborn in Spider-Man has revealed he’s not returning for the sequel.
Back in June, Insomniac took on a new concept artist from the game who had previously worked on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is due out on PS5 in 2023.
