Marvel’s Spider-Man is out now on PC, and Twitter user DniweTamp has unearthed evidence in the game’s files that Insomniac Games was working on a multiplayer mode for the critically acclaimed superhero title.
According to the files, the multiplayer mode would have featured Miles Morales — who would later get his own game for PS5 & PS4 — and various modes. Miles himself would be controlled by a second player complete with a unique loadout and abilities. PvP and Free For All are also mentioned in the files.
In addition, the data mentions callouts to the player who becomes “the Superior Spider-Man,” plus “player 1” and “player 2” alongside red and blue teams.
Apparently, the Marvel’s Spider-Man multiplayer mode would not be accessible at the start of the game, but would rather be unlocked or obtained via DLC.
