The game director on Marvel’s Wolverine has revealed that Insomniac Games is including a New Game Plus mode for the title from day one.
Speaking during an interview with Eurogamer, Mike Daly revealed that those of you who are buying the physical version of Marvel’s Wolverine will receive New Game Plus on disc, so there’s no annoying downloads required or shelling out for post-launch content. It’s there from the beginning, ready for you to tackle after finishing the campaign.
On the disc, we’re shipping New Game Plus, which means right after you beat the campaign, if you want, you can play the game over again. And our goal was to make sure that that second time through was just as fun as the first, so we let things be a little higher paced, a little higher danger, and more intensity. It’s just a few more things to unlock that really change the dynamic of gameplay to keep it exciting the second time around.
As previously reported, Daly told IGN that Marvel’s Wolverine is not an open-world game like its Spider-Man titles, but rather a more linear affair. Marvel’s Wolverine received an extensive gameplay trailer during State of Play on June 2, which offers a greater look at the game’s brutal melee combat (Wolverine is caked in blood as he slices enemies up with is claws; the studio isn’t shying away from gore here!) as well as the first look at Jean Gray, who will aid players on Logan’s adventure.
Marvel’s Wolverine is scheduled for release on September 15, 2026 exclusively for PS5.
