BioWare has provided a brief update on Mass Effect 5 ahead of N7 Day next month, stating the game is being envisioned as a single-player title.

Back in February, BioWare General Manager Gary McKay revealed that Mass Effect 5 was still in the prototyping phase, and an additional update two months later labelled the project as in early development.
During N7 Day 2021, BioWare shared some new art work on the new Mass Effect title, which seemed to point to the Geth returning. For the uninitiated, the Geth are a synthetic race created by the Quarians and served as one of the main antagonists of the original Mass Effect and appeared in its sequels.
Mass Effect 5 has yet to attract a release date and is presumably in the work for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S.
