Mass Effect 5 Is Being Led By 4 BioWare Veterans, Confirms Michael Gamble

BioWare‘s Michael Gamble has reassured fans that the next Mass Effect game — just called Mass Effect 5 for the time being — is in good hands, with a number of veteran developers involved in the production of the title.

Speaking on Twitter, Gamble responded to a fan questioning whether or not the Mass Effect 5 did indeed have a number of veterans involved, with the veteran BioWare developer confirming “EP, Art Director, Creative Director, Game Director are all trilogy vets.”

Mass Effect 5 is currently a long way off with Jeff Grubb claiming last year that he wouldn’t be surprised if the upcoming sci-fi space epic didn’t see the light of day until 2029. Meanwhile, Jez Cordon stated during an Xbox Two podcast in September 2023 that the new Mass Effect would be ‘ditching open world and going back to its classic formula.’

While BioWare hasn’t revealed much about the game at all yet (not surprising seeing as how it’s still far off), it has confirmed that Mass Effect 5 is being envisioned as a single-player title.
