Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain rating outs ‘extreme violence, motiveless killing’

Fresh details on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain have emerged via the game’s ratings description on PEGI’s official website, confirming the title will feature high levels of violence.

While this isn’t really a surprise considering the mature-rated content typical of the stealth-action franchise, PEGI specifically mentions use of ‘extreme violence’ and ‘motiveless killing’ of innocents.

Here’s the ratings description below:

"The content of this game is suitable for persons aged 18 years and over only.

It contains: Extreme violence – Multiple, motiveless killing – Violence towards defenceless people – Strong language

This game allows the player to interact with other players ONLINE."

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is due out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on September 1, and will reportedly include microtransactions. Check out the latest screenshots here
