MGS: Peace Walker HD to run at 60fps, hints Kojima

The upcoming HD revamp of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker looks set to run at a blistering 60pfs, according to a Twitter tease by series overlord Hideo Kojima.

“Wow, 60 fps on HD is great! "Say peace!" wrote the Kojima Productions boss.

Peace Walker originally released on PlayStation Portable and ran at 30fps, as did Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, which hit PlayStation 2 in 2004. Apparently, Kojima tried to get MGS3 running at 60fps for Sony’s last-gen machine, but couldn’t due to technical limitations. The HD re-release, however, will run at 60fps.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, meanwhile, was locked down at 60fps for its PS2 debut back in 2001, which will of course be replicated for its HD rebirth as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. The bundle hits PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November.
