With rumours rife that Microsoft is looking to bring a number of its major Xbox titles to PS5, Phil Spencer has reportedly told attendees at an internal downhill meeting that the Redmond-based firm has no plans to stop making Xbox hardware.
That’s according to journalist Shannon Liao, who claims that Spencer said that Xbox consoles will continue to remain a core part of Microsoft’s strategy involving “multiple kinds of devices.” At the time of writing, the company has yet to make anything official on bringing exclusives over to rival formats, but Spencer said last week that Microsoft is planning to address the future of Xbox this week.

In case you missed it, Microsoft is heavily rumoured to be bringing major titles including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Hi-Fi Rush and Starfield to the PS5, and there’s even been chatter about the likes of Gears of War also making the jump to Sony hardware.
The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S both launched in November 2020, and while Microsoft has divulged how well its hardware has performed, it is widely believed that Sony has established a significant lead over its rival.
